"The Clean House" by Sarah Ruhl presented by Elden Street Players

A 2005 Pulitzer Prize Finalist.
(Comedy)
The Clean House is a wryly funny, deeply moving play that begs the question: What really IS important in life? Mathilde is depressed. She doesn’t want to clean the house, she wants to telljokes; in Portuguese! The problem is, she’s Lane’s live-in maid. And all Lane wants is a clean house. She’s got everything else: a husband who’s a successful surgeon and her own busy career as a doctor. Or so she thinks.

From the writer of Dead Man’s Cell Phone and In the Next Room (The Vibrator Play), the New York Times called Sara Ruhl “a provocative new theatrical voice” and The Clean House “visionary.”

Directed by Susan Devine(WATCH Award-winning director Chicago)
