Great Falls Senior Center November 13 program theme: Evolution and Future of The Turner Farm Park

The evolution and future of two community landmarks, now The Turner Farm Park which includes Observatory Park, are the theme of a Great Falls Senior Center program on November 13.

The program will include presentations. Fairfax County Park Authority's Kirk Holley will recall the history of The Turner Farm Park site. He then will address plans for park development which include equestrian and astronomy facilities and programs. Analemma Society founder Charles H. Olin will talk about Oservatory Park and the Society's relationship to the Park and Fairfax County Park Authority. He will discuss efforts to observe and measure the "complete electromagnetic spectrum"--from pre-telescopic instruments such as quandrants and sundials, to optical telescopes and other high tech instruments--to beter understand the universe.

The event will be at the Dranesville Church of the Brethren, 11500 Leesburg Pike, Herndon, VA. The program will run from 11:00am to 1:30pm.
