Global Climate Chaos: The Moral and Ethical Dimension

As part of the Science, Reason and Religion Forum, Richard Greene will lead a discussion of the human-caused climate chaos that is increasingly disrupting the globe, adversely impacting disadvantaged populations and raising significant ethical challenges for Americans disproportionately responsible for the problem.  Greene will discuss how climate chaos severely challenges coastal Bangladesh communities.   UUCF climate change leaders will discuss collective and individual roles for the congregation.

Richard Greene joined USAID’s mission in Bangladesh in July 2011.  As the mission director, Greene oversees one of the largest USAID development assistance programs in the world in terms of funding and staff size. Currently, U.S. assistance to Bangladesh includes support for free, fair and credible elections, and more transparent and accountable governance; support for a better educated, healthier and more productive population; and resources to increase economic opportunities through equitable economic growth, improved food security and disaster mitigation.

This program will be in the Chapel of the Program Building. All are welcome.
