The area has seen nothing but rain for the past few days and Thursday's downpour resulted in flooded roads and streams, people getting stranded in vehicles and closures. • Fairfax County Schools are closed on Friday. All after school activities, including the Herndon vs. South Lakes football game, will not be held.
• The Herndon Community Center is open on Friday, but all programs and classes are canceled for the day.
• The Reston Jaycees adopt-a-spot cleanup originally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 10 has been rescheduled for Oct. 2.
• Current road conditions from VDOT on many of the areas main roads can be found here.
• We hope none of you have to travel this far to work, but in case you know anyone who does, the VRE is closed on Friday.
