Fairfax County Public Schools’ board members . The plan includes the implementation of full-day kindergarten at all FCPS elementary schools, and a 1percent raise for teachers. The budget will be discussed at work sessions and public hearings next week.

WMAL reports that Loudoun County is considering pulling its funding from the Dulles Metrorail Project. In the article, Loudoun County Board of Supervisors Chairman said pulling out of the project could mean the end of Phase 2 for Rail to Dulles.

The Washington Examiner is reporting that Michael Strauss of Herndon, his son Patrick Strauss of Washington, D.C., and Joseph Barreiro of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. have been accused of running a tax scam that convinced people to invest in cemeteries and related charities that do not exist. The men collected $35 million in the scam.

Herndon Community Television announced recently that leading up to the 2011 Herndon Festival it will be broadcasting highlights from previous festival years. The station will also have live broadcasts of this year’s festival. HCTV airs on Verizon Channel 28 and Cox Channel 23.
