Suitable tips for posting on the fridge

Using the results from the annual Fairfax County Youth Survey, which was administered to sixth-, eighth-, 10th- and 12th-graders, the county has put together a several fact sheets about the behaviors, experiences and other factors that influence youth health. The fact sheets, ranging from depression to cyberbullying and alcohol abuse, aim to help parents recognize warning signs of risky behavior and find out how to get help for their teenager.

Internet Safety

Internet safety is high on the priority list for schools and parents. This website contains a comprehensive overview of resources to help parents keep kids safe online, including the Superintendent of Public Instruction’s Guidelines and Resources for Internet Safety in Schools and i-SAFE — the foundation that FCPS has partnered with to educate people about how to control their online experiences.

Student Safety and Wellness Office

The Student Safety and Wellness (SSAW) Office promotes prevention and early intervention for violence and drug use in Fairfax County. There is a good amount of information on this page regarding underage drinking awareness, suicide prevention and conflict resolution.

Transportation Services

The Office of Transportation Services, which includes administrators as well as drivers and attendants, is responsible for getting students to and from school safely.
