Five Things to Know Today in Herndon

Provide input on the Town of Herndon's 2014 budget, celebrate Valentine's Day with a singing Valentine.

1. The Herndon Town Council is seeking public input on the 2014 budget. The council is inviting the public to speak at this week's public hearing to let them know which programs and services are most important to residents. The public hearing starts at 7 p.m. at the Ingram Council Chambers, 765 Lynn St., in downtown Herndon. 

2. This week in Herndon and Northern Virginia area residents can buy their sweetheart a singing Valentine through the Fairfax Jubilaires. From now through Wednesday, singing Valentines are $50 and available from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. in Northern Virginia and Washington, DC. On Thursday and Friday prices are $70 and a singing Valentine over the phone is $30. Find more information here. 

3. The Loudoun and Fairfax County Bloggers Meetup group has a meeting beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday night to discuss how to implement advertising on blogs. The discussion will cover online banner ads, prices and policies as well as sponsorships.

4. Registration for the spring 2013 Herndon-Reston Youth Lacrosse season is open but will be closing soon. There are a limitd number of spots available in most of the boys and girls divisions. Both new and experienced players are welcome. Practices begin this month. Click here for further information. 

5. Skye Ballet Center's new facility at Sunset Business Park is now open. The center has a range of classes from beginner to pre-professional and adult. Enrollment for classes is open now. Click for more information.
