Five Things to Know This Week in Herndon

2. With August winding down, the Herndon Town Council will not meet again until September. The next council work session is Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. in the Hoover Conference Room in the Council Chambers, 765 Lynn St. in downtown Herndon. 

3. The Herndon Community Center will close Saturday, Aug. 25 through Monday, Sept. 3 for annual repairs and maintenance. The pool will be closing on Thursday, Aug. 24. The center reopens on Sept. 4 with many classes and programs available. Signup for fall classes and programs can be found by clicking here

4. The Town of Herndon's Citizen's Police Academy begins Sept. 6 and runs through Nov. 15. Applications are being accepted now for area residents 18 and older. The course is open to those who live outside Herndon as well, though priority will be given to town residents.
