Five Things To Know This Week

The Herndon Town Council will discuss the 2012-2013 Annual Budget at this week's work session.

1. The Herndon Town Council will at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Mary Ingram Council Chambers, 765 Lynn St. The agenda includes discussions on the town’s 2012-2013 Annual Budget, intersection improvements to Park Avenue and Monroe Street, and the comprehensive plan amendment for the Herndon Metro Station Area Plan. 

2. Northern Virginia Community College’s Sterling campus is hosting a on Wednesday evening. The workshop is free and will provide information on how to pay for college.

3. A will be held Feb. 9, 10 and 11 at the Frying Pan Farm Park Schoolhouse. Families can purchase books and other gift items for toddler-age children to elementary-age children. The book fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Feb. 9-10 and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Feb. 11.

4. is hosting girls preseason development clinics. Additionally, is now open.

5. The Town of Herndon has begun sending out an email business newsletter, Herndon BizNews, that includes information about new businesses in the town, topics important to businesses in the town and more.
