A380 Makes its Debut at Dulles Airport

The Air France Airbus A380, the world's largest passenger aircraft, arrived at for the first time today to mark the beginning of daily service, in collaboration with Delta, between Dulles and Paris-Charles de Gaulle.

According to a statement released by Air France, flights will depart from Dulles at 4:40 p.m. and arrive in Paris the following day at 6 a.m. local time. Flights will depart from Paris at 10:40 a.m. and arrive at Dulles at 1 p.m. local time. 

The double-decker aircraft on the DC-Paris route features 516 seats and four cabins.  There are nine seats in First Class, 80 seats in Business Class, 38 seats in Premium Economy Class and 389 seats in Economy Class. 

The aircraft also boasts "a sophisticated lighting system synchronized with time zone changes, an art gallery, six bars and extensive on-demand entertainment programming." 

Air France refers the plane as "the quietest aircraft in its category" with 20 percent less fuel burned than the A330.
