These were the words of Senator Rand Paul from Kentucky as he began his filibuster on the Senate floor at 11:47 AM.  His voice rang out for freedom for 12 hours 52 minutes in one of the most amazing stands for liberty that Washington, DC has ever seen.  Not since our Founding Fathers first sought to form this country has such an impassioned plea for liberty and freedom been heard.  He continued.

I rise today for the principle.  The principle is one that as Americans we have fought long and hard for and to give up on that principle, to give up on the bill of rights, to give up on the Fifth Amendment protection that says that no person shall be held without due process, that no person shall be held for a capital offense without being indicted.  This is a precious American tradition and something we should not give up on easily.

Rand Paul's filibuster is the clarion call for people who love the Constitution of the United States! This is the battle cry! Our voice is being heard. There is no turning back now. The voice of liberty has sounded.  Let Freedom Ring!
