Wawa Gas Station Needed in Loudoun County?

Company beefs up proposal with market study.

Does Loudoun Need Wawa Gas Station?
Does Loudoun Need Wawa Gas Station?
Wawa- obsessed customers aren't the only ones pushing for a new gas station/convenience store at the intersection of Old Ox Road and Oakgrove Road.

A new market study on behalf of Wawa suggests there's a Wawa-sized fuel station vacuum in the area, according to The Washington Business Journal.

What do you think? Ready for Wawa? Tell us in the comments section below!

The Journal's Michael Neibauer notes there are hurdles for the developer. The one-story, standalone station isn't the kind of project envisioned by Loudoun County planners and the nearby Town of Herndon.

Wawa announced its first Fairfax County location last summer.

Please put a WaWa by the Chick Fil A in Ashburn.
Aubrey Stokes February 19, 2014 at 11:52 AM
Yes. We need a wawa there. Don't care what Loudoun has planned. It's probably more town homes surrounded by industrial parks.

WaWa on Old Ox. Oh, please, gawd. Don't let this happen. Neither that abomination nor Sheetz.

Hopefully there will be road improvements also. A third lane on Oakgrove, extended turn lanes on 606, and a stoplight will most likely be needed to save lives.

Love and miss WaWa having lived in the Philadelphia area for several years but what we REALLY need is from the other corner of PA--- a super SHEETZ that you can get in and out of easily!
F. Gasperini February 20, 2014 at 07:54 AM
Sheetz on Route 7 somewhere between Tysons and Leesburg for those of us who commute on Rt 7 every day, so we don't have to pay $.20- $.40 per gallon more than Leesburg for gas en-route for the privilege of poor service, poor location, and unsafe traffic patterns in and out of the station! Right about Cascades---

Call me crazy, but one thing I haven't understood around here is why there are so few gas stations? I may be wrong but it seems like gas stations are far and few given how densely populated this area is. Then a lot of the gas stations that you do see are the older 2 or 3 island style variety. I've often wondered why WaWa hasn't hit the area yet.

How are there barely any Sheetz/Wawa in the DMV area but crappy 711's are ubiquitous??
Mujona Taikutsuna February 25, 2014 at 10:44 PM
You know what? No, no we don't damn need a freaking Wawa. We live in one of the richest counties in America. The median household income is over $100k here. Our list of needs is quite comfortably low and Wawa's not on there. How about we call it what it is: a nice bonus if we could arrange to get one.
