Jimmy's Old Town Tavern Wins for Its Wings Again

Jimmy's Old Town Tavern was voted No. 1 in WTOP's best wings contest.

has done it again.

The Herndon hangout and community gathering place has won first place in WTOP's wings contest. Buffalo Wild Wings took second place out of 10 area restaurants that serve great wings; Ledo Pizza took third. 

Owner Jimmy Cirrito told WTOP that the secret is in the sauce, which he gets shipped to the restaurant all the way from Buffalo, NY.

Last year Jimmy's won Northern Virginia Magazine's King of the Wings contest. Late one night in the middle of the contest, Cirrito promised the patrons at his restaurant that if Jimmy's wings won the contest he would do the chicken dance in his underwear in the middle of Elden Street.

Northern Virginia Magazine is currently in the midst of its BBQ Brawl contest, and is in the top eight finalists. Voting in the next round begins tomorrow.
