Jimmy's Continues Reign as King of the Wings

Jimmy wins contest, will return Saturday to downtown Herndon to do the chicken dance in his boxers.

"Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to Jimmy's!" -Jimmy Cirrito, JOTT owner

For the second year in a row Jimmy's Old Town Tavern was named the winner of Northern Virginia Magazine's "King of the Wings" contest for its buffalo wings.

The announcement came Monday after Jimmy's was pitted against other great area wings joings like Chics n Wings, Glory Days Grill, Wing Stop and Chicken Bon Chon. Polling for this year's King of the Wings competition first began in October.

Once again, owner Jimmy Cirrito promised if he won he would perform the chicken dance in his boxers on Elden Street in downtown Herndon.

This Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m., Cirrito will keep his promise as he boogies down outside Jimmy's Old Town Tavern. This time he'll be joined by Giant Chicken Eric Quarnstrom.

Jimmy's also won a best wings contest held by WTOP this year.
