'Hunger Games' Tickets Selling Fast, but Still Available

Several theaters in Northern Virginia still have tickets available for the midnight showing of the much-anticipated movie.

Some theaters in the D.C. area are devoting multiple screens to “The Hunger Games” when it opens at 12:01 a.m. Friday, and some of those showings are already sold out.

Nationwide, advance ticket sales for the movie have broken records. Online movie ticket sales company Fandango reported Tuesday that more than 2,000 showings nationwide are sold out. Pre-sales are bigger than that of the first “Twilight” film.

The official movie trailer on YouTube has gotten more than 8.3 million views (see it at right).
