Herndon Optometrist Receives Distinguished Achievement Award

Thomas Finley received the award from the Virginia Optometric Association.

Thomas Finley, owner of in downtown Herndon, has been recognized by the Virginia Optometric Association with the 2012 Distinguished Achievement Award. 

Finley received the honor because of his commitment to service with local charitable organizations, mentoring young doctors, serving as a legislative key person and advancing the optometric profession while providing exceptional service to his patients, according to a press release. 

Finley has been an optometrist in Herndon and an active member of VOA for 23 years. He received his Doctorate of Optometry from the Pensylvannia College of Optometry and served as an optometry officer in the US Air Force for eight years.

“I have always tried to give back to my local community and profession and hope in the end I have given more than I received,” says Finley. “I am truly honored to have received this award.”
