Employees at New Amazon Offices in Herndon to Earn an Average of $114,000

Amazon Web Services employees who will work at a planned office in Herndon will earn an average salary of $114,000, the Washington Business Journal reports.
The average salary in Fairfax County comes in at about $76,828.
Amazon Web Services, a division of Amazon, provides cloud-computing services to businesses, government and educational organizations.

In May, the company announced they would set up shop in Herndon thanks to a $500,000 grant from the Governor’s Opportunity Fund, approved by Gov. Bob McDonnell earlier this year.
Amazon has committed to hiring 380 new employees. The company has also promised to make investments in transportation near their Herndon office, the Business Journal reports.
