A Sign of the Times

caring about the Town and its residents

As I have moved around the Town visiting with residents, I was repeatedly thanked for (1) having the courage to run for mayor, (2) having the courage to put positions forward early to enable comments to be made (as opposed to some lengthy paper at the eleventh hour that no one has time to challenge), and (3) caring about the Town and its residents and not some futuristic, unrealistic agenda, or others' political agenda.

It's your turn now.  Not voting is certainly an option, but then others and not you get to choose.

I have served you, the Town residents, since 1985 in many capacities.  I offer myself to you for the next two years as your mayor.  I will continue to listen.  I will continue to be honest with you and tell you what I think – AFTER I hear what YOU have to say.

I will encourage staff to do their jobs (as opposed to doing those jobs for them) but as I said at a public meeting not too long ago, I will be part of a council that provides leadership TO staff as opposed to ridiculing them or allowing them to ‘lead’ council.

Please find the time on Tuesday May 1 to come to the Community Center to vote between 6 am and 7 pm.

Oh – and did you notice all the new signs that cropped up in places where they hadn’t been before?  I guess there are some that believe that the candidates with the most signs win.  I think those with the most votes will.  See ya Tuesday!
