Taste Wines and Brush Shoulders With a Local Author This Saturday

A pairing of a new and different variety this Saturday at Piero's Corner in Herndon.

 

Looking for something tasty, stimulating, and just a bit mysterious to do this Saturday night?

Chef Gian Piero Mazzi of Piero’s Corner restaurant in Herndon's Franklin Farm Shopping Center will host a book signing and wine tasting this Saturday, May 18 in the restaurant.

The featured book is a historical novel, Secret of a Medici Mistress, by local author Donna Gillotte of Herndon.

Published in 2012 by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, this 297-page paperback novel is set in the Golden Age of the Italian Renaissance.

Exploring the full nature of human good and evil, Secret of a Medici Mistress is "a story of a love found, lost and found again."

Dramatic events in the life of the Medicis unfold for the reader through eyes of Maddalena de Pagni, a courageous and perceptive young female artist whose beauty, brains and talent dazzle the charismatic Lorenzo de Medici. 

A tasting of wines from Tuscany will also be available.

The cost of the book is $21.99.

Piero’s Corner Restaurant is located at 13340 Franklin Farm Road in Herndon. The wine tasting and book signing event will be held from 5:30-8:30 p.m. this Saturday, May 18.
