Fairfax County Parks Offer Entertainment for All
The end of the summer is drawing near but FCPA still has plenty of entertainment on hand
The Fairfax County Park Authority Summer Entertainment series is still providing a wide range of entertainment through the end of the summer.
On Wednesday, Aug. 17 Frying Pan Farm Park, 2709 West Ox Rd., will play host to a 10 a.m. performance by The Great Zucchini. The funny and magical program is geared toward preschool and kindergarten-aged children. The children get to see a colorful program with many laughs and even learn a little magic of their own. Lee District Park, at 6601 Telegraph Rd. in Franconia, will have the renowned United States Navy Band “Country Current” at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17. The group is the Navy’s premier country music group, established in 1973. They have played for audiences at the Grand Ole Opry and for President George Bush. For more information call 703-922-9841.

Those who love indie rock will enjoy a performance by the Joe Rathbone Band. Rathbone caught the attention of Starbucks when they licensed songs from his 2007 album Under the Scorpio Moon. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17 at Mason District Park, 6621 Columbia Pike, in Annandale.
