ArtSpace Displays Local Residents' Herndon Photographs

The At Home in Herndon town calendar photography exhibit features photos of Herndon throughout the year.

The At Home in Herndon: 2012 Town Calendar Photography Exhibit is currently on display at . 

The exhibit, which includes photos taken throughout town, is open until Sept. 9. For a second year, the Town of Herndon, in partnership with ArtSpace and the Council for the Arts of Herndon, called on area residents to submit their photographs of Herndon. 

Photographs include everything from landscape photos taken in Herndon to pictures of community events, such as the Homecoming parade and Herndon Festival.

From the submissions, a number of photographs are chosen to be featured in the At Home in Herndon town calendar, printed and distributed to area residents and businesses by the Town of Herndon. 

The exhibit includes works by amateur and professional photographerse, and was slected by jurors Wayne Zink and Sarah Burton.

Photographers who have work in the exhibit include: George Billman, Sandra Blake, Lawrence Cohen, Adam Dorn,  Katherine Fri, Sandi Galle, Brian Gilleran, Elizabeth Gilleran, Barbara Glakas, Ann Marie E. Heiser, Mercia Hobson, Wei Mo, Keith Naquin, Catherine Powers, Michele Reyzer, Wray Sinclair, Amelia Steiner and Jasmin Ullah. 

The closing reception, scheduled for Sept. 8 from 7-9 p.m., will include an announcement of the photographs that will appear in the 2013 At Home in Herndon town calendar. 

Additionally, one photograph will be honored with the People's Choice Award. Patrons who visit the exhibit can vote for the photograph they think best captures the town. Each visitor six years old or older can submit one ballot per visit. The winner will be announced during the closing reception.
