A Touch of Red On Display at ArtSpace

Herndon has welcomed artists from Great Falls in the current ArtSpace Exhibit, A Touch of Red.

The art on display is mixed media, including photography, paintings, graphite, stoneware, fiber and more and all fits in the touch of red theme—some with small dashes of red and others nearly covered in red. The subject matter varies widely.

The work comes from 28 artists who are part of Great Falls Studios, which began in 2003 with just a few artists and now includes more than 100 area artists.

On Wednesday, Dec. an artists reception was held at ArtSpace and included the opportunity for art lovers to meet and speak with the artists whose work is on display.

Karen Bateman, Roberta Pruett Beasley, Hwa Crawford, Brenda Drake, Jennifer Duncan, Elaine Elinsky, Jonathan Fisher, Betty Ganley, Robert Gilbert, Cindy Grisdela, Linda Jones, Robin Kent, Walt Lawrence, Dee Leggett, Val Mahan, Michela Mansuino, john Francis McCabe, Mary Ellen Mogee, Laura Nichols, Terri Parent, Chris Rollins, Silvia Gonzalez Roman, Claudia Samper, Alicia Sommers, Dean Souleles, Richard Suib, Will Tuthill, Suzanne Twyford.

The work will be on display through Jan. 8, 2012. ArtSpace, 750 Center St., is open Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1-5 p.m. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
