Who Should Be Herndon's Citizen Of the Year?

Herndon Rotary Club seeks nominations.

Whom do you think goes above and beyond to make Herndon a better place?

The Herndon Rotary Club is once again seeking feedback on that very question.

The club is currently seeking nominations for its annual Citizen of the Year award.

According to the club, this community-wide award was initiated in 1963 to recognize those individuals who have contributed to improving the greater Herndon area.

Any individual or organization can submit a nomination for consideration, club representatives said. To nominate someone, submit the individual’s name, address and phone number, along with a letter describing why you feel the individual is deserving of the award. The nominator should include his or her name, address and a phone number for themself as well.

Multiple letters supporting a nomination are always appreciated, the club said.

Past recipients of the award include Arthur Nachman in 2012, for his tireless support of school music programs, and George and Laura Price in 2011, for their many years of service to Friday Night Live.

Nominations should be sent to Herndon Rotary, P. O. Box 321, Herndon, VA, 20172, or emailed to thomas.haselhorst@wellsfargoadvisors.com.

Contact Tom Haselhorst at 703-761-4747 with any questions.

Nominations are due by Dec. 15.
