Looking for things to do this weekend? Look no further. Here's a variety of things happening around Herndon.

Friday

Learn how to cook family favorites easy enough for any one to whip up. Friday evening’s at the community center features enchiladas, fish fingers, and chocolate covered strawberries. It costs $30 for each adult/child team.

The community center will also play host to the Friday night. Enjoy ghoulish games, creepy cuisine, enter the pumpkin contest, and trick or treat during the costume parade. Parents must accompany children (ages 3- 8) at the event. It starts at 6:30 p.m.; $11 at the door, $8 in advance.

Saturday

Come out Saturday morning to the . This annual community event has participants from area schools, civic organizations, and local businesses. The Parade starts at 9:30 a.m., winds down Elden Street starting at Sterling Road to left on Lynn Street and ends at Center Street.    

Tee time for the is 9 a.m. Saturday. Golfers can expect to play in the Ryder Cup Format. Contact the pro shop for more details: sign up is required and space is limited.

Floris United Methodist Church is hosting on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The event will feature speakers, vendors, information and more, all aimed at helping seniors and families of seniors.  

Brush Strokes salon is holding its first on Saturday.  Stop by Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. ALL proceeds will go to the Tigerlily Foundation: www.tigerlilyfoundation.org

Sunday

You can also support the breast cancer cause on Sunday at . There is no studio fee, no cost, just make any size cash donation to the pink breast cancer jar and paint a free ceramic ribbon (4 inch or 8 inch)—which are good to give or keep. All proceeds will be donated to the Reston Rack Pack, who will also be walking in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in 2012. 

Head out to on Sunday for all sorts of family fun. There will be giant slides, moon bounces, pony rides, a petting zoom, and a whole lot more. Take advantage of the free pumpkin and free apples and cider, too.
