Weekend Planner: Valentine's Edition

There's something for everyone to celebrate Valentine's Day this weekend.

Valentine's Day is approaching and all of Herndon is celebrating. Local organizations, churches and businesses are celebrating by hosting Valentine's events for all. Find something to do with your sweetheart or the whole family. 


FRIDAY
 

The is hosting Dry Branch Fire Squad Friday night at 8 p.m. The group is known for its “down to the roots,” raw bluegrass sound. The show is $15 per person, with children 12 and under free. 

The Elden Street Players production of . The musical centers on a duo of musicians who struggle to follow their careers while holding onto each other.

two great organizations, Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and The Honor Flight Network for WWII Veterans. The evening will include beginner lessons at 8:30, dancing, candlelight desserts, dance demonstrations, chair massages and more for $20 per person. 


SATURDAY

Dogtopia of Herndon is hosting aand pets alike. There will be treats for dogs and their people and an indoor dog park area for them to play from 2-4 p.m. 

The at the annual Herndon Rotary Valentine Hop on Saturday night. Over 18 only, doors open at 7 p.m. and the music starts at 8 p.m. The event is BOYB and tickets are $35. 

Floris United Methodist Church is hosting its from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will include games, a silent auction, food, chocolate treats, childrens Valentine making and more. 

will include demonstrations, hands-on activities and more. February’s topic is scientists and inventors. The event is for all ages. 

Elden Street Players Theater for Young Audiences is bringing . The children's show features the stories from the princes' perspectives from Cinderella, Snow White and Rapunzel. 


SUNDAY

Looking for a Valentines Day activity for the children? Bring them to Herndon Community Center on Sunday to for their friends and family at 10 a.m. 

Children can also take part in a , making wearable beaded jewelry. For children in grades K-2 the program starts at 10 a.m., for children in 3-6 the program starts at 2 p.m.

The is Sunday evening at 6 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Reston. The evening will include entertainment, laughter, desserts and wines, along with silent and live auctions.
