Weekend Planner: Sugarloaf Crafts Festival, Toys for Tots Collection & More

SATURDAY

• Extended Shopping Hours at The Closet - Herndon thrift store The Closet will have extended holiday hours Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Jimmy's Downtown Chicken Dance - Jimmy Cirrito, owner of Jimmy's Old Town Tavern will do the chicken dance in his boxers in downtown Herndon at 2 p.m. to celebrate his King of the Wings win. 

• Herndon Model Train Show & W&OD Caboose - Visit the Herndon Model Train show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and take a tour of the caboose. The event happens Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. as well.

• Jingle on Lake Anne - Lake Anne rings in the holidays with a petting zoo, children's activities, cookie decorating and a visit from Santa at 12 p.m. sharp.

• Free Womens Zumba Class - Enjoy a free womens Zumba class at 10 a.m. at Southview Community Church. Click the event link for signup information. 

SUNDAY

• Christmas Carols & Holiday Celebration - The Closet of Herndon is holding Christmas carols, holiday treats and photos with Santa from 4-6 p.m. Sunday. 

• Annual Chanukah Celebration at Lake Anne - Celebrate Chanukah by watching as a giant menorah is lit at Lake Anne. The event includes entertainment, hot cocoa, Chanukah donuts, latkes, chocolate gelt, free dreidels and more.

 • Sugarloaf Crafts Festival - Head to Chantilly for the Sugarloaf Crafts Festival for one-of-a-kind gifts for the holidays. 

• Herndon-Reston FISH Toys for Tots Collection - Visit National Realty in Reston to drop off toys for this year's Toys for Tots collection through Dec. 14. 

POSTPONED

• Jack Corkey Memorial Aquathon Postponed - The Aquathon in Memory of Jack Corkey, former owner of Great Harvest Bread, has been postponed. The event was to include a 1/2 mile indoor swim followed by a 1/2 mile indoor run in the pool. Keep an eye out for the new date.
