For parents and high school seniors looking for ways to pay for school, you may want to attend in Burke. The free seminar will give you information on available scholarships and scholarship searches. Several local scholarship providers will also be in attendance.

Friday afternoon is a perfect time to take a holiday family portrait. If you book a session at ArtSpace Herndon, a portion of the cost will be donated to an emergency shelter. The fall fundraiser helps fund crisis intervention, housing and counseling for its victims. Photo sessions cost $75 and $60 goes right to supporting these programs.

If you’re still feeling charitable Saturday morning, bring your dog to the  at Bark ‘N Bubbles in Herndon. Proceeds from the day benefit the Virginia German Shepherd Rescue. No appointments are needed and the volunteers will wash your dog at the “you wash” price.

Visitors of all ages are invited to the Air and Space Museum in Chantilly. This month's theme is to the Moon and Beyond. Through demonstrations and hands-on activities learn about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics as they relate to aviation and space exploration.  Admission is free, but parking costs $15.

If you’re looking for a Christmas gift for that hard-to-buy-for person, come out to Southview Community Church’s You can buy unique gifts in people’s honor that help people in need around the world. Get some shopping done early and support a good cause all at the same time.

Sunday afternoon, the Petsmart in Chantilly will host from Friends of Homeless Animals—a no-kill rescue in the Northern Virginia area. Come see adoptable cats and kittens and find one to share your home and heart with. Adoptions will take place from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
