Students Can Sign Up for NatureFest's Runnymede Race or Enter the Photography Contest

NatureFest 2011 features two new events for middle- and high-school aged students in the Herndon community

The 2011 NatureFest will be taking place on Sept. 18 from 1-5 p.m. at Runnymede Park and features .

The Great Runnymede Race is an "Amazing Race" style competition for middle-school aged children. The winner will receive a round of mini golf at Woody's, located on Leesburg Pike. The deadline for team registration has been extended to Sept. 10. Teams should consist of 2-4 members.

The second new event is a photography contest for high school aged students. The contest will showcase photos of Runnymede Park and nature. The four photo categories include animals, plants, landscape/atmosphere and people in the park. There will be a monetary award for the NatureFest Photo Contest.
