Patch Picks: Summer Camps

Our picks for some great local summer camps for kids

It’s that time of year when parents are starting to sign up their children for summer camps, so this week’s Patch Picks, focuses on a few great summer camps in and around Herndon.

• The Town of Herndon’s Parks and Recreation Department offers great programs for children of all ages.

• Katydid Kids offers program for children from ages 3-10 at Frying Pan Farm Park where they learn about farm animals and have farm adventures.

• Fairfax County Park Authority has even more programs at Frying Pan Farm Park for children up to 14 years old, featuring everything from horses to geocaching to a camp you can bring your dog to.

• Pro-Active Summer Camp provides an environment for children to learn about character development, teamwork, sportsmanship and recreation.

• JW Tumbles offers many fun camp classes throughout the summer, including gymnastics, princess and superhero, little rockstars, circus and magic, and ocean adventure camps.

• The Herndon Braves hosts a summer camp for children ages 7-14 to develop and teach baseball skills, including pitching, hitting, catching and more.
