Parks and Rec Offers Two-Day Camp for Kids on Teacher Work Days This Coming Week

There's no school in Fairfax County on Thursday and Friday for end-of-semester final grading. Here's an option for young kids.

Did you know—Thursday and Friday of this coming week are no-school days in Fairfax County?

It's true; this Thursday, Jan. 30 and Friday, Jan. 31 are teacher workdays, as they prepare final grades for the fall semester.

What do you plan to do with your children on Thursday and Friday? If you're not sure yet, the Town of Herndon Parks and Recreation Department has an option for you.

The department will hold a School's Out Camp on Thursday and Friday at the Herndon Community Centerfrom 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

Campers will have the opportunity to participate in large group games, science experiments, indoor swimming, cooperative games, cooking, and arts and crafts.

Children ages 6 to 11 are invited to participate. The cost is $35 per camper per day. Sign up for one day, or both. If you sign up for both days at once, you can get a $10 discount off your total.

Parents should plan on putting sneakers on their child, and packing a swimsuit and towel, and a bag lunch and snack with a drink.
