NatureFest 2011 to Feature Photo Contest and More

This year's NatureFest will also feature an "Amazing Race" style contest called The Great Runnymede Race

NatureFest will have two new features this year for local students to get involved in.

The first event open to local students is the NatureFest Photo Contest. The contest is open to all high school students in the immediate area and all photos must be taken in Runnymede Park and be the original work of the student.

Participants may enter one photo in each of the four categories in the competition. Categories include animals, plants, landscape/atmosphere and people in the park. Prizes will be awarded in each category.

The second event is The Great Runnymede Race for middle school students. The race is open to all students of middle school age, including rising 7th and 9th grade students. The event will be loosely based on the TV show “The Amazing Race.”

Students will form teams of two to four members and will race to various locations throughout Runnymede Park. At each location they will have a task to complete and the first team to finish each one will be declared the winner. All participants must have parent permission.
