Jimmy's Old Town Tavern Puts Its Wings to the Test Again

Though Jimmy's Old Town Tavern in downtown Herndon took the top spot in Northern Virginia Magazine's readers poll for top wings in the region, it was Glory Days Grill that won the magazine's blind taste test on Sunday.

Three of the four top finishers from the Northern Virginia Magazine's Wing Wars participated in the event, including Jimmy's, Glory Days Grill and Vintage 50. Judges were provided samples of the wings and sauces to try them with and graded them based on tenderness, appearance and flavor.

Judges included Washington, D.C. area food photographer Nicole Bernard, Mark Weiler, founder of Wy's Wings chicken wing sauces, and Warren Rojas, food editor for Northern Virginia Magazine. Though Bernard and Weiler tested the wings on site, Rojas tested them before hand.
