Herndon Police Introduces Charity Golf Tournament

The event will help fund its Cars for Kids program.

The Greater Herndon Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #64 is a local charitable organization committed to assisting those in need right here in our community.

On Monday, April 29, we will be hosting our inaugural charity golf tournament and fundraiser at Herndon Centennial Golf Course.  The proceeds from this tournament will go to help support our local Cops & Kids Program and the Police Unity Tour.

Not only will your support help these great causes, but as a registered charitable organization, it will allow you to receive the maximum allowable tax deduction.

The Cops & Kids Program serves children that are identified through the county’s school system, and provides them with the opportunity to share in all the joys the holiday season has to offer. The children and their families are treated to a complete holiday experience with a full hot breakfast, plenty of seasonal activities and a visit from Santa bearing gifts and toys for all the kids and their families.

We will also be using some of the funds raised to support the Police Unity Tour.  This important cause provides funds and support services to those families who have lost a loved one in the line of duty.

Among those that will be in attendance for this event will be Herndon Mayor Lisa Merkel, Virginia Delegate Tom Rust, and many other community and business leaders.

Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. Special skill challenges like "longest drive," "beat the pro," and "closest to the pin" will be offered, as well as a silent auction.

Individual golfers can register for $125, which includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, lunch and refreshments on the course, complimentary beer and wine throughout the day, unlimited range balls, and dinner.

Corporate and group sponsorships are also available.
