Herndon Cubs on a Cutter

Herndon Cub Scout Pack 913 spent St. Patrick's Day aboard the US Coast Guard Cutter TANEY.

Scouts from Herndon Cub Scout Pack 913 spent St. Patrick's Day, March 17, aboard the US Coast Guard Cutter TANEY. It's the only ship still afloat from the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in WWII. The scouts learned all about the ship’s 50-year history of service with a thorough tour of the ship, then dined aboard, manned battle stations and retired the day by sleeping in the same bunks used by the ship’s servicemen from 1936 to 1986.
