If you’re looking for something to do with the kids in the next few days, we’ve got a few ideas.

Herndon Reston Youth Softball and
Where/when: Friday, March 25 starting at 5:30 p.m. at Herndon Middle School, 901 Locust Street, Herndon
Why go: Youth can work on their softball game during the 30-minute catching clinic, then stay for the pitchers clinic, catching for the pitchers.
Price: Free

Where/when: Saturday, March 26 at 10:30 a.m. at Frying Pan Farm Park, 2709 West Ox Road, Herndon
Why go: Children 10 years old and younger will have fun at this great spring activity. They can make and decorate a kite, then watch it fly in the sky.
Price: $6 for Fairfax County residents and $8 for non-residents

Where/when: Saturday, March 27, registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the race starts at 9 a.m. at Camden Dulles Station Apartments, 2320 Dulles Station Boulevard, Herndon
Why go: This 5K is great for all ages, whether you’re a walker or a runner, plus there is a children’s fun run, great music and activities and more. The event benefits in the Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. region
Price: Registration is $35 prior to the event and $40 the day of

Where/when: Sunday, March 27 from 4-5 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1133 Reston Avenue, Herndon
Why go: Bob Brown Puppets will be performing the show “Second-Hand Stars.” The program shares a message about the importance of recycling.

Where/when: Wednesday, March 30 from 1-3 p.m. at the Herndon Community Center, 814 Ferndale Avenue, Herndon
Why go: Children under five can enjoy an afternoon of fun and games in the pool at the Herndon Community Center playing with other children and wacky water toys.
Price: $5 for each parent and child and $2 for each additional child
