Looking for something to do with the kids? Take a look at our suggestions.

If you’re looking for something to do with the kids in the next few days, we’ve got a few ideas.


Where/when: March 12 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 12125 Pinecrest Road, Reston, VA.
Why go: If you’re a high school student looking for a prom dress, shoes and accessories, take a look at the free ones offered by Reston Community Center.
Price: Free.

Where/when: March 14 at and at 2709 West Ox Road, Herndon, VA.
Why go: Your 2-3 year old child can meet barn animals, listen to stories, play games and learn about life on the farm. Each week’s program is different.
Price: $7.

Where/when: March 16 from 10:45 a.m. to noon at 441 Carlisle Drive, Herndon, VA.
Why go: Moms can enjoy some downtime to converse with friends, do some work, surf the internet or read a book while the Wee Play staff supervises children at play.  Wifi and free coffee are provided.
Price: $11.

Where/when: March 16 from 1-3 p.m. at 814 Ferndale Avenue, Herndon, VA.
Why go: Children under five can enjoy an afternoon of fun and games in the pool at the Herndon Community Center playing with other children and wacky water toys.
Price: $5 for each parent and child and $2 for each additional child.

Why go: The Friends of Reston Regional Library will have plenty of children’s books for sale, from baby books to teen titles and teaching materials.
Price: Other than what you may buy, free.
