  • Why go: The Elden Street Players will present the Washington, D.C. area premiere of "Thrill Me: The Leopold and Loeb Story."

  • Where/When: South Lakes High School, 11400 S Lakes Dr, Reston, VA 20191; April 2, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Why go: Herndon's H.K. Lee Academy of Tae Kwon Do will be hosting the National Capital Open Tae Kwon Do Championship, which attracts about 2,000 people, from competitors to coaches, officials, spectators and more. Proceeds from spectator admission benefit the SLHS athletic booster club.
  • Price: $10 admission

  • Where/When: Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 1090 Sterling Rd, Herndon, VA 20170; Saturday, April 2 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Why go: The Blue Moon Cowgirls play traditional country music in the style of the 1940s and 1950s, when there were no flaming guitars, torn or messy clothes but instead solid vocal harmonies.
  • Price: $12 for adults, children 12 and under are free
