Five Things To Know This Week

Town of Herndon residents need their vehicle decals by Tuesday, Nov. 15. The town is holding extended hours to accomodate last minute decal purchases.

Here's the latest Five Things to help get you through through your busy week:

Decals are required for all motor vehicles, trailers, motorcycles and semi-trailers that are garaged, stored or parked within the town's limits for more than 30 days. 

The town will have extended hours for vehicle decal purchase on Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 14-15 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Credit and debit cards cannot be used for town motor vehicle decals, cash or check is needed. The restaurant is taking donations of canned vegetables, soups, gravy, boxed cereal, oatmeal, boxed foods such as macaroni and cheese, hygiene items, grocery store gift cards and more. Items will be accepted through Nov. 22. 

Each month the group talks about a new topic that impacts parents and mothers. Meetings are free, though moms must live in the 20170 or 20171 zip codes.

The program collects new hair and skincare, makeup brushes, shower gels, body lotions, soaps, jewelry and more  to create beauty bags that will go to women in Reston Interfaith programs. The goal is to collect enough for 150 mothers this season. Bring items to Maude.
