Fairfax County Honors Herndon's Carl Sivertsen

Sivertsen worked for Fairfax County for more than 22 years.

Fairfax County honored Herndon resident Carl Sivertsen on Tuesday for his years of service working at the county.

Sivertsen, who retires this month, has worked for the county since 1990. His roles included communication coordinator and community education and outreach coordinator. He could often be found at events such as Herndon Naturefest educating residents on West Nile and Lyme Disease awareness.

As a Herndon resident Sivertsen spent more than two decades volunteering and working with and throughout the town, including as member of the Town of Herndon's Planning Commission and with his divorce support group, among other organizations.
