Dress Up Herndon for the Holidays Lights Up the Town

Grab some cocoa and pile in the car tonight to check out these holiday lights before Santa comes!

The holiday season is ON in Herndon, if the results of the annual “Dress Up Herndon for the Holidays” decoration contest are any indication. Displays of festive creativity can be found throughout the town.

Judges from the town’s Cultivating Community Initiative circulated throughout Herndon’s neighborhoods on Dec. 17, evaluating and then naming eight homes as contest winners. Winners were presented with a festive sign, suitable for display, and will be formally recognized by the Mayor and Herndon Town Council at the January 15, 2013, public hearing.

“This contest is a fabulous way to build community and to celebrate the season in Herndon,” said Mayor Lisa Merkel. “I encourage everyone to pile the kids, family and friends in the car and ride around town to see these wonderfully decorated homes and neighborhoods.”
