Calling All Talented Photographers!

Enter ArtSpace Herndon's 2014 Fine Art Photography competition. Deadline is coming soon.

ArtSpace Herndon has kicked off its 2014 Fine Art Photography competition, and is looking for local submissions.

The competition is open to fine art photographers ages 18 and older from Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia and Washington, D.C.

The artist can work in any medium, such as digital or analog, color or monochrome, and can use any printing technique.

"We care about well-done art more than the specific medium, technique or format," ArtSpace representatives said in a news release.

Fine art photography of any subject is welcome, they added, as there is no required theme for entries.

Finalists for the competition will make up the March 2014 exhibition at ArtSpace Herndon in the Nelson J. and Katherine Friant Post gallery.

The deadline for entries is Friday, Jan. 31 at 5 p.m. Finalists will be notified on Friday Feb. 7 via e-mail if they have been selected a winner.

Prizes will be awarded for first place ($300), second place ($200), and third place ($100).

The juror for this year's competition is photographer D.B. Stovall.
