Headlines: Fort Belvoir Fatality, 'Goat Vote,' Airport Shuttle Driver Charged and a Leg Lamp Light Display

Plus, coat donation drives and 'Ready for Hillary' gets ready.

By Greg Hambrick

"A Christmas Story" turns 30 this year and there are few things from the 1980s that say Christmas like the "fragilé" display of a lamp in the shape of a woman's leg with a frilly lampshade on top.

Over the weekend, nearly 40 vessels lit up the Potomac River for the 14th annual Holiday Boat Parade of Lights in Alexandria. The event’s Best in Show went to Firefly, a 25-foot sailboat with that famous leg lit up.

And that wasn't the only tribute from the crew. Read about that, and more, in our daily collection of stories from across Patch sites in Virginia and D.C.
