Herndon's NJROTC Opens Exciting Opportunities to Area Teens!

Herndon High’s Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) announces a new Auxiliary Cadet Program, perfect for young people who are studying at Herndon High and who are looking for a little extra challenge!  This amazing program enables talented youth to participate with the unit as an extra-curricular program, which includes all Corps activities – athletics, rifle marksmanship, orienteering, color guard, drill competitions, community service, Military Ball, and travel.  Auxiliary Cadets choose activities in which they're interested based upon their individual schedules.  In addition to enjoying the fun, they develop self-confidence, strong leadership skills, and discipline as well as an appreciation for the talents of all team members, regardless of age, sex, ethnicity, or socio-economic status.  They also can earn the coveted “Excellence in Civics Education Seal” for their high school diplomas.  Working together, as a unit, and with its community, Herndon's NJROTC accomplishes great things!

To find out more about this exceptional opportunity, please contact CDR Rick Cassara at (703) 408-8490 or rjcassara@fcps.edu.  To learn more about Herndon's award-winning NJROTC in general, please visit http://herndonnjrotc.com/.
