Herndon High Cadets Raise Breast Cancer Awareness at the GWU Field Meet
Herndon High Cadets (NJROTC) kicked off this fall’s first truly brisk Saturday morning by hosting the George Washington University Field Meet. The Herndon cadets and cadets from seven units from throughout Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC, pushed themselves to the limit as they engaged in grueling physical fitness competitions, learned the importance of teamwork, and celebrated good sportsmanship. Wearing bright pink shirts reading “Sting Cancer,” the Herndon Cadets also used this large venue to raise awareness of and funds for breast cancer research.
