Let's Help Kids Strikes Again!

Let's Help Kids sends feel good gifts to kids. Help us raise more funds on March 9 at the Dual Gala: www.letshelpkids.org

Let's Help Kids was founded by a 6 year old girl who wanted to make sure that she made other kids feel good by getting them gifts when they otherwise may not receive one. I jumped on board to help this amazing organization grow and raise funds to buy more gifts to help more kids. Recently, I had the opportunity to experience "the filling of other's buckets" first hand:

Through my work with the foster care program, I have started to build relationships with the social workers that handle a dozen or more children's cases at any one time. They make sure the children are in a safe and secure home, help with foster care placements, attend court hearings, facilitate adoption options and so much more. What I didn't know, is how much they go above and beyond to be sure that the children have birthday presents and holiday gifts. Many of this comes from donations, but the social workers must do all of the leg work - and somehow, they manage to fit it in on top of their own families.

In talking with one of the workers, she mentioned the craziness of the season and, in addition, one of her cases in that had an upcoming December birthday. This young girl is in a group home for special needs kids, and has no family celebrate with. I immediately thought of Let's Help Kids (LHK)! I asked her to find out what the girl wanted, gave the list to the LHK staff (thinking that they might be able to provide one or two things on the list) and waited to hear back - hoping we could do a little something for a child in the system.

LHK emailed me a day later that the gift was on the way: Hello Kitty bedding, a comforter, wall decals and an official Hello Kitty stuffed toy! I couldn't believe it! THIS is what LHK is doing for the kids out there.  This birthday girl will have a beautiful gift that she will see every morning when she wakes up!

I knew what we were doing was special, but now I truly feel the impact it has on a child who may have so little. Please help us help more kids by logging on to our website at www.letshelpkids.org and be sure to get a ticket for our very cool 3rd Annual Dual Gala on March 9th, where kids get their own private party so the parents can act like kids in the other ballroom! A little bit helps a lot of kids - please reach out and help if you can.
