Rosh Hashanah

The Jewish New Year called Rosh Hashanah is this week. 

In English, Rosh means head and Hashanah means year.  So that means head of the new year.

Rosh Hashanah starts September 4 at night and ends at night on September 6.

At Chabad Reston Herndon they had a Shofar Factory where you could make your own shofar with JCrafts.  A shofar is a kosher animal horn that you blow. 

You also eat apples and honey to celebrate a sweet New Year.
