Herndon’s JJ Deli, 909 Ferndale Ave., is supporting Cornerstone (formerly Reston Interfaith) with its Back-to-School Drive – and they could use your support! The organization is collecting items like backpacks and other common school supplies for local underprivileged families. Donations can be dropped off at JJ Deli by noon this Friday, Aug. 16. Pathway Homes of Fairfax County, which assists local residents who suffer from mental illness, is in need of a passenger van to help transport patients. Are you the parent of a budding ballet or dance star? Classical Ballet Theatre of Herndon is holding auditions for its Academy program during the week of Aug. 26-30. CBT representatives say the academy offers “the highest level of classical ballet and contemporary dance training, as well as performance opportunities in professional quality productions.
