Back-to-School Haircuts, Chamber Endorses Metro's 'Momentum' Plan, and More

The day's news and events at a glance, for the Herndon area.

The Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce announced this week it is endorsing Metro and the Washington Metropolitan Area Transportation Authority’s (WMATA) plan, “Momentum,” which features a number of initiatives official want to achieve by 2025 in order to build and maintain the existing system while also expanding in order to address ever-increasing ridership. Experts predict ridership will increase by at least 30 percent in the next 10 years. “As one of the fastest growing regions in the country, transportation is a critical area to maintain and develop,” said Eileen Curtis, president of the Chamber. “Our chamber supports WMATA’s plan for this vital piece of our community’s infrastructure and economic development.” Read a detailed article by our sister site, Georgetown Patch, here.
