More About Herndon United Methodist Church
Herndon United Methodist Church began in Northern Virginia in 1857, meeting in the homes of its members. In 1869 it became part of the Methodist Episcopal Church North. The church worshiped in a white church at the intersection of Elden and Center Streets until the late 1930s when it merged with another local Methodist church. The congregation moved to Bennett Street in 1987. HUMC focuses on worship, education, fellowship and outreach.
