Woman Killed in Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident in Herndon

Police were called to the 600 block of Center Street just after midnight last night for an accident.

Update - 1:09 p.m. -- Investigators have determined that the black Toyota Camry found a short distance away from the hit-and-run accident belongs to the victim's husband. .

The is investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident that happened just after midnight last night.

Herndon officers responded to a call in the 600 block of Center Street and found an unknown woman in the parking lot. She was pronounced dead at the scene by rescue units.

Additionally, a short distance from where the woman was found, a vehicle was located that had struck several other vehicles parked along Center Street. The occupant or occupants of the vehicle had fled the scene.

Herndon Police are working to determine if the vehicle, a black Toyota, may have been involved in the hit-and-run incident.

Police are conducting a crime scene investigation and search in the area. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Herndon Police Department at 703-435-6846.
